Who are Mayden Health?

Mayden Health are a fully funded commercial limited company with a 7 year track record of delivering health related software and products. We are an award winning supplier of healthcare solutions and a member of the IAPT Informatics Strategy Group. For more information check out our website.

 

What other systems have Mayden Health developed?

We provide CQuins, the national cancer system for self assessment and peer review, which was runner-up in the eHealth Innovation Awards 2005. Healthcare Today provides a news service to thousands of healthcare professionals across the UK and around the world.

 

What is IAPT?

The Improved Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme is a joint venture between the Department of Health (DH) and the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP). The programme seeks to deliver on the Government's 2005 General Election manifesto commitment to provide improved access to psychological therapies for people who require the help of mental health services. What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?

CBT is about changing how you think and what you do. It is therefore helpful in treating mild cases of depression. It helps by breaking down overwhelming problems into smaller parts. It can involve talking to therapists, using a book or a computer programme. It can be as effective as anti-depressants and can be used to treat a wide range of depressive disorders.


The IAPTus System

Who has designed the system?

IAPTus has been designed jointly by Dr Ben Wright at the Newham Psychological Treatment Centre - part of the East London Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - in conjunction with Mayden Health.

 

Does IAPTus collect data for central returns?

Yes. The main function of IAPTus is to support clinical practice but all important data is collected as a by-product of day-to-day operational management.

 

Can I upload documents to patient records?

Yes. Documents in a variety of formats can be uploaded and attached to individual patient records. File sizes are limited to 8Mb but documents rarely need to be this big.

 

Can IAPTus report by GP practice on a weekly basis?

Yes. All our reports can be run on a variety of subsets of the data and between any two dates. Simply select the practice from a drop-down menu and enter a start and end date to obtain a practice-level report. To achieve this, when setting up the system we naturally do require a list of participating GPs with practices identified.

 

Can IAPTus produce patient letters?

Yes. There is a generic and versatile letter writing module which can be accessed from an individual patient record. Standard letters can also be included as templates - automatically populated with patient details as appropriate - and a patient summary with all key data can also be produced. Letters are produced in high quality PDF format with your service's letterhead; the PDF documents can be printed or attached to the patient record.

 

Is it possible to monitor how therapists use their time?

Yes. Our reporting system includes a number of useful management information reports as standard. It allows therapists to record time spent on patient contacts, supervision and administration and to report against these.

 

Can data from older systems be uploaded onto the system easily?

It is possible to upload legacy data from older systems. It may require some preparation and success will depend on the quality of the original data. We may charge for this service but will undertake to transfer the data at cost.

 

Is there a user group?

We are in the process of setting one up. The purpose of the user group is for members with similar issues and problems to provide their experiences and suggestions for solving them. There will also be the opportunity to guide the development of future modules.

 

Can this system be used outside the UK?

The system was initially written for the UK market and in particular to deliver on the Department of Health requirements. We have established that the software and the way it works is fully compatible with other mental health practices in other parts of the world.

 

Why should I use your product rather than other software on the market?

IAPTus has been specifically designed to manage patients receiving Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or 'talking therapies'. We are confident that when compared objectively against other software for functionality, compliance, user experience, support, delivery, security and costs that we come out as the best available.

 

Is there any way I can trial the system?

We are not technical. Is the system easy to use and manage?

Once set up there is little technical maintenance to do. Routine tasks such as adding users are straight forward and help is available should you need it.


Implementation

If I want to develop my organisation's capability can the system be expanded?

IAPTus is designed to be flexible and expandable. Additional patients, users, forms, questionnaires, services, and care pathways can all be added relatively easily.

 

Are there any hidden costs or fees such as maintenance or upgrades?

Our costs include licences, any special hardware such as RSA secure key fobs, all support and maintenance as well as upgrades. Uploading legacy data may incur a charge, but this will be at cost.

 

How quickly can IAPTus be implemented?

From confirmation to proceed we would expect to be up and running within about one month.

 

Do you provide training?

Yes. We would anticipate spending a day on-site with key users to help them become familiar with the system but we can provide as much or as little training as required.
